Dive Into Post-Production

After a few weeks of rest and reflection, we are thrilled to announce that THE PASTOR-ESS has officially entered post-production!

We are stepping into this next phase with renewed energy and expectant hearts, knowing that God is doing something beautiful through this film. The real magic of editing is about to begin, where the Holy Spirit will guide us as we weave together the footage from Los Angeles and China into a cohesive, powerful testimony.

Just as God knit together every scene during production, we trust Him to shape the narrative now in the editing room, ensuring every cut and transition serves His greater purpose. We are eager to see how He transforms our raw footage into a vessel of hope and grace.

It's a Wrap!

(Feature Film "The Pastor-ess" - China Unit)

The China unit wrapped production in Nanchang & Jinxian under grueling conditions, sustained only by God’s blessing and the team’s faith.

The shoot took place during peak summer heat, with temperatures in Jiangxi Province expected to exceed 35°C (95°F). However, in a remarkable act of grace, the temperature significantly dropped during the exact week of our shoot. Although still hot, this unexpected relief made the filming environment bearable, a clear testament to God's faithful provision.

Through daily prayer and reliance on divine strength, the production progressed steadily. This spiritual foundation was crucial, especially when working with local first-time actors. Directing non-professionals under harsh conditions required immense patience, which the team found through their shared faith.

The director focused on building trust and simplifying direction, creating a supportive atmosphere that enabled authentic performances. What could have been an insurmountable challenge became a powerful testimony to resilience and grace. The successful completion of the film's Chinese sequences is seen as a defining creative achievement, credited not only to hard work but to the evident hand of God, protecting and guiding every step of the production.

It's a Wrap!

We are thrilled to announce that principal photography for our first feature film The Pastor-ess is officially wrapped!

After months of dedicated preparation, we completed an intense 11-day shoot across 11 different locations, bringing over 100 pages of the remaining scenes in the script to life. It was a fast-paced, faith-filled journey that pushed everyone involved to give their very best.

Thank you to our incredible cast, crew, prayer warriors, and supporters who made this possible. We couldn’t have done it without your prayers, hard work, and generosity. As we move into post-production, we continue to trust God to shape this raw footage into a powerful vessel for His glory.

We can’t wait to share more updates as the film comes together. Stay tuned!

Production is officially commencing on the feature film The Pastor-Ess!

After months of tireless preparation, securing 11 incredible locations, and casting over 35 talented actors, we are ready to begin our 11-day principal photography journey. The script is finalized, the team is assembled, and our hearts are full of anticipation.

Before the cameras roll, we invite you to join us in prayer. We ask for God’s blessing and protection over every cast and crew member, especially as we navigate the intense schedule. We pray for wisdom for our director and producer, safety for our team, and that the Holy Spirit will guide every performance.

May this production be more than just a film; may it be a vessel for hope, truth, and grace. Thank you for standing with us in faith as we step into this exciting new chapter.

Location Tech Scout!

The team is now mobilizing for the official location scout, a critical pre-production step guided by faith and preparation.

After tireless searching, the team has found some amazing locations that might fit the story well. The Director, Cinematographer, Production Designer, and First AD will visit each of the 11 locations to prayerfully assess lighting, sound, and logistical feasibility. These visits are essential to confirm that every setting aligns with the creative vision God has given for The Pastor-Ess.

By seeking God’s wisdom during this scouting phase, the team aims to finalize detailed shooting plans, ensuring that the upcoming 11-day principal photography runs smoothly and effectively. We trust that the Lord will go before us, preparing every location and opening the right doors for His story to be told.

Casting Call!

The production is actively seeking over 30 actors to fill diverse roles for the upcoming 11-day shoot in Los Angeles, CA. The film is primarily set in the USA, where the main story unfolds. With locations secured, the team is moving quickly to assemble the cast. The casting notice includes detailed character breakdowns for lead, supporting, and ensemble roles, specifying age ranges, character types, and necessary special skills.

Submission Details:

• Platform: Submissions are accepted via self-tape through Breakdown Services on Actors Access.

• Requirements: Actors must submit a current headshot, resume, and demo reel.

• Availability: Given the tight 11-day shooting schedule, confirmed availability for the production dates is required for all selected actors.

Interested actors should create or update their Actors Access profile to submit directly to the breakdown.

Production is about to commence on the China unit for the feature film The Pastor-Ess!

Our Director, Producer, and DP are preparing to travel to Jinxian, a small town in Jiangxi Province, for an intensive 4-day shoot. We are filled with anticipation and faith as we ready ourselves to film the authentic Chinese sequences of our story.

We face significant challenges, including scorching summer temperatures expected to soar above 35°C (95°F) with high humidity. Additionally, we will be directing 15 first-time actors from the local community, relying on patience and the Holy Spirit to guide their performances.

Please join us in prayer for:

• Protection & Health: Safety for the crew and cast against the extreme heat, and protection for our equipment.

• Divine Guidance: Wisdom for the director in working with non-professional talent and clarity for every department.

• God’s Favor: That the Lord’s presence would be evident on set, turning potential obstacles into testimonies of His grace.

We trust that God’s blessing will sustain us through every hot day and every scene, making this short but critical shoot a miraculous success.

For the upcoming 4-day shoot in Jinxian, China, we are seeking 15 individuals to portray authentic local characters in the film’s pivotal flashback and final scenes.

No acting experience is necessary. We are looking for genuine hearts and willing spirits, not professional resumes. If you have ever felt a nudge to be part of a creative project that shares a message of faith, this is your opportunity.

What to Expect:

• Supportive Environment: Our team is dedicated to guiding first-time actors with patience, prayer, and clear direction. We will create a comfortable, low-pressure set where you can be yourself.

• Flexible Direction: We will provide line readings and simple, action-based direction to help you feel confident in front of the camera.

• Spirit-Led Production: This is a Christian production, and we believe God has prepared specific individuals for these roles. We will rely on His wisdom and grace throughout the process.

Requirements:

• Availability for the 4-day shoot in Jinxian during the summer heat.

• A willingness to learn and take direction.

• Must be fluency in the local dialect or Mandarin.

Script Finalized, for now!

The script for The Pastor-Ess is now officially finalized...for now.

After years of development, prayer, and refinement, the 114-page screenplay has been locked, for now, marking a critical milestone before principal photography begins.

With the story set, the team can now move forward with confidence into final casting, detailed location scouts, and scheduling. We are grateful for God’s guidance through the writing process and are excited to see His vision come to life on screen.

The team is prioritizing the 4-day shoot in NanChang & Jinxian, China to capture the film’s critical flashback and final scenes first. This strategic decision allows the team to secure the authentic rural footage and work with the 15 first-time actors (family and friends) before moving to the larger Los Angeles production.

Focusing on the China unit first ensures that the emotional bookends of the story are locked in, providing a clear tonal foundation for the remaining scenes to be filmed in the US. The team is preparing for the intense summer heat, relying on prayer and careful planning to make these four days a success.

Table Read Update: A Blessed Gathering for The Pastor-Ess

We are overjoyed to report that our recent table read of the first draft was a profound time of fellowship and divine guidance. Our close circle of actor friends and family gathered not just to read lines, but to seek the Holy Spirit’s direction for this story.

As we brought the characters to life, the room was filled with a tangible sense of God’s presence. The feedback session went beyond mere creative critique; it became a time of prayerful discernment, where we tested the dialogue and emotional arcs against Scripture and spiritual truth. We are deeply grateful for the wisdom shared, which has already helped us refine the script to ensure it aligns with God’s vision for the flashback and final scenes.

This collaborative step was a testament to the body of Christ working together. With the script now stronger and more focused, we move forward in faith to finalize the screenplay and prepare for the upcoming China unit shoot in Jinxian.
